Hello! My name is Mrs. Longnecker and I am going to be your third grade teacher. This is my third year teaching at Rogue River Elementary, and I love being a part of this community. Third grade is a year of fun while growing into new responsibilities that come along with getting a little older.

I have a Master’s degree in the Art of Teaching that I earned from Southern Oregon University. I love teaching and exploring the “why” and “how” that comes along with our school subjects. I adore art and strive to bring more art into our lives throughout the year. Before I was a teacher, I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design and worked in the Fashion Industry for 13 years. Now in teaching, I bring that love of art from my previous studies and work experience into my classroom.

I am married to Mr. Longnecker, a P.E./ 4th grade teacher at RRES, and we have two young sons, Travis (6 yrs) and Evan (4 yrs).  We love to spend time together going on bike rides, to the park, and having family movie nights. We love to travel and explore new places or visit friends and family. I grew up in California, where my parents still live and we often visit during summer vacation, but I have also traveled to Mexico, England, France, Italy, and China. 

In addition to traveling, here are some other things I love… I love the colors purple and turquoise, stars, and butterflies. My favorite food is probably burritos, but pizza and pasta are right at the top too, while my favorite drinks are ice tea and coffee. I enjoy reading fantasy book series, so I know there are more to come! I also enjoy knitting/crocheting, sewing, drawing, and generally creating art with my children.

I am so excited to be your teacher this year while we navigate our studies, learn, and grow together. I look forward to a memorable year with you!
